I understand the importance of leadership in education and in all fields. As someone who shouldered the thrill and burden of leading for change for most of my life, I deeply empathize with the unique mental and emotional challenges of leadership.

I do not see leadership as an individual endeavor. “We are all leaders,” is not just a cliché. Leading for wellbeing means learning to embody the qualities of leadership we all must have in order to support one another.

Gone is the age of the hero leader. No one person can understand the complex world we live in and have all the answers. Only by living and breathing as one, interconnected organism – sharing the unique talents and information each of us as individuals have – can we solve the complex problems of our time.

Therefore, Leading for Wellbeing: It’s what’s required of all of us.
